3 stars!!Bikers and Pearls tells a story about two very different individuals, coming together to save a young boy's life and ultimately falling in love with each other. “No, April. Your love is a miracle—my miracle.”April Church and Bullworth Clayton couldn't be any more different from each other. She's a Ann Taylor, pastel-and-pearls girl who plays it safe, all the time, while he's a long-haired, leather-clad, Harley riding man. April, due to some unfortunate event in her past, hates motorcycles. Bull, cherishes them. They came from different backgrounds and wouldn't have met if it hadn't been for a special little boy who needed both of them. April Church, to be honest, was a very hard character for me to like. I understand her trauma but sometimes, it felt like her attitude towards Bull and others like him has nothing to do with trauma. It has to do with her being a shallow snob. Her biggest ambition in life was to become part of the League of Ladies. She sees the opportunity to add points to her resume by helping Ben. Don't get me wrong. She's sweet, cute and nice, not just with bikers or anyone who isn't like her.She almost ruined the book for me because I found her too shallow and having so many hang-ups, it wasn't fun reading about it. Thank god for Bull. Bull is strong, caring and loyal. And oh, did I mention he's hot? He had a troubled childhood, joined a notorious motorcycle, left that gang and established himself as a legit businessman. I really liked him even though people were prejudice towards him, he remained loyal and loving.It took a lot of convincing and a lot of introspection on April's part to finally let Bull in. She realized her mistakes and realized that she's not living her life to the fullest. When April finally got things in her sorted out, it became a sweet read for me. It realistic and sweet.This book is clean, meaning no explicit sex and Bull, being a biker and all, doesn't really cuss. If you like your bikers that runs toward the "Deuce" end of the spectrum, then this book isn't for you.
